DB Bahnbau Gruppe GmbH is a subsidiary of Deutsche Bahn AG (DB). Since January 1, 2010, this subsidiary has brought together all DB Group companies that provide construction services on railway infratructure in Germany and Europe in competition.

For many years, the four-axle diesel locomotives of the DB Class 218 were the most important representatives of the mainline diesel locomotives on West German tracks. Even today, these locomotives, which were once widely used, can still be found sporadically on non-electrified lines, among others in the service of the DB Bahnbau Group.
