Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) class C 5/6 “Elephant” steam freight locomotive with 3-axle tender, converted to oil firing. Locomotive road number 2976. Modeled as it appeared in the 1950s, this H0 scale locomotive combines historic detail with high-performance model engineering.
Equipped with an mfx+ digital decoder, extensive sound functions, and controlled high-efficiency propulsion with a flywheel mounted in the boiler, the locomotive powers five axles with traction tires. Both the locomotive and tender are primarily metal, offering a robust and premium feel.
The locomotive features a factory-installed 72270 smoke unit. Triple headlights on the locomotive and two lights on the tender change with the direction of travel, and all lighting and the smoke unit function in conventional operation or can be controlled digitally. Cab lighting is digitally controllable, using maintenance-free warm white LEDs.
Additional features include adjustable coupling with guide mechanisms between locomotive and tender, front NEM pocket with close coupler on the locomotive, and rear NEM pocket with close coupler and guide mechanism on the tender. Piston rod protection sleeves and imitation prototype couplers are included. Minimum operating radius is 360 mm (14-3/16″), and length over buffers is 22.3 cm (8-3/4″).
This is a one-time series model, supplied new in original box.
