Premium ClassiXXs German Federal Post Office ZUNDAPP BELLA Delivery Scooter
Due to the easier handling and lower operating costs, the Deutsche Bundespost switched from motorcycles to scooters in the early 1950s. To allow for a heavier load of luggage, vehicles like the Zundapp Bella received sidecars, luggage racks and other extras. The launch of the Bella in 1953 was a resounding success for Zundapp. In addition to its outstanding technical qualities, this was certainly also due to the naming “Bella”, with which Zundapp met the spirit of the economic miracle. In the postal service, however, the era of motor scooters was over after a short time. As early as 1956, the telecommunications service stopped using motorcycles. At the beginning of the 1970s, they had almost completely disappeared from the Post fleet.
The finely detailed Premium ClassiXXs models correspond to a Zundapp Bella as used by the Deutsche Bundespost in the 50s and 60s.
