Pre‑owned Märklin HO‑scale German Federal Railroad Class 24 passenger steam locomotive, standard design with Wagner smoke deflectors, road number 24047, and factory‑installed mfx digital decoder with extensive sound functions. Includes a factory-installed 72270 smoke generator and boxed (not original box) with booklets/inserts. Tested and in excellent running order, this detailed model faithfully represents the post‑war Class 24 steam locomotive with tender and warm‑white LED lighting.
The Class 24 was a lightweight, versatile passenger locomotive, designed for branch line and secondary express service. As part of the Einheitslokomotive (standard locomotive) program, it featured standardized parts for reliability and ease of maintenance. The locomotive’s Wagner smoke deflectors help lift smoke from the driver’s line of sight, a distinctive and iconic feature.
The model features a special can motor in the boiler, with 3 axles powered and traction tires, and a metal boiler construction. The triple headlights change over with the direction of travel, and, along with the smoke generator, function in conventional operation or can be controlled digitally. The headlights are maintenance-free, warm white LEDs.
There is a close coupling with a guide mechanism between the locomotive and tender, a close coupler with an NEM coupler pocket and guide mechanism on the rear of the tender, and a close coupler with an NEM coupler pocket on the front of the locomotive. Figures of a locomotive engineer and fireman are included.
Length over the buffers: 19.4 cm / 7‑5/8".
