The Modelbahn Union Tanoos 896 swing roof wagon is a highly detailed N Scale freight model representing modern European bulk transport operations used by German Railways DB and the NACCO freight leasing fleet.
The prototype has been in operation since 1998 and was developed specifically for low-dust transport of bulk materials such as potash, feed, sand, chalk, and other industrial commodities. The wagon features a pivoting swing roof system for protected loading and four discharge slides underneath for efficient unloading. These wagons are commonly operated in block train formations across Germany and neighbouring European rail networks.
NACCO-operated Tanoos wagons are especially associated with potash transport services and pooled freight wagon operations within German and wider European logistics networks.
This limited edition Modelbahn Union release features realistic open-frame construction, separately fitted metal handrails and cable details, optional running surfaces, detailed printing on all sides including wagon ends, and multiple interchangeable coupling systems.
