The Modelbahn Union Tanoos 896 swing roof wagon is a highly detailed N Scale freight model representing modern European bulk transport operations used across German Railways DB and associated leasing pool operators.

The prototype has been in service since 1998 and is designed for low-dust transport of bulk commodities such as potash, feed, sand, and other industrial materials. Loading is carried out via a pivoting swing roof system, while unloading is performed through four underframe discharge slides.

These wagons are commonly operated in block train formations and have appeared under multiple operator identities including German Railways DB, Railion, DB Cargo, as well as leasing pool operators NACCO and CIT.

This version represents a pooled freight wagon used in mixed operator service across European rail logistics networks.
