This London Fire Brigade appliance, registered FLE 289, appeared from the 1940s onwards. Highly detailed, it carries the LCC London Fire Brigade livery; the crest adorns the sides of the cab, and the high level of predominantly black and silver mask spraying on all sides is impressive. The model is topped with a roof ladder tipped in white, and even the hose ends are masked silver.

This model represents a restored vehicle. The Bedford WLG was the long wheel base version of the Bedford WT, which had been introduced in 1933. In 1937, the Government invited tenders for a large number of fire pumps of differing sizes to supplement the existing brigade in case of war. Initially three chassis were utilised — Fordson, Bedford, and Morris, later joined by Austin.

Produced by Oxford Diecast, this model is ideal for OO gauge layouts, dioramas, or as a standalone display piece. The model is boxed for protection, though it is not in its original Oxford packaging.
