This Premier Classe Dining Car represents a premium long-distance catering vehicle operated under the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA).
The Premier Classe service forms PRASA’s premium intercity passenger offering, providing enhanced comfort, dining, and onboard service on selected long-distance routes. The coaches are finished in a modern blue, white, and silver livery, reflecting PRASA’s corporate rebranding and premium passenger identity.
The design incorporates distinctive circular ring motifs applied across the rolling stock, including high-visibility side decals used on premium long-distance coaches and the wider “People’s Train” EMU fleet. This visual language is inspired by the Protea, South Africa’s national flower, with flowing circular forms symbolising petals, growth, and national identity.
Premier Classe Dining Cars support onboard catering services within PRASA’s premium passenger operations. Many originate from earlier South African long-distance passenger stock associated with the South African Railways (SAR) and were later refurbished for continued use under PRASA.
